Hello,

I have some "current pending sector" probably due to a samsung firmware bug :
https://www.smartmontools.org/wiki/SamsungF4EGBadBlocks
197 Current_Pending_Sector 0x0032 100 100 000 Old_age Always
- 2
198 Offline_Uncorrectable 0x0030 100 100 000 Old_age Offline
- 1

I think these are actually good sectors because I can read with hdparm any
sector that triggered IO error in syslog ; badblocks (read) doesn't report any
issues and "smartctl -t long" is also successful

My question is : which is the best way to fix my drive with smartmontools now?
Primary goal would be to stop receiving daily mails for these sectors,
ultimate goal would be to fix smart erroneous data

Thanks in advance

If you can blank the entire drive and it doesn't change, I don't think
you're going to convince it to change.

You'd probably want some filter that whitelisted this value and notified if
it changed, rather than notifying on strictly nonzero.
